BIO
By blending genres and worldly influence, The Moai Broadcast creates a mystical landscape that embodies the primal essence of rhythm, melody and human expression. By embracing the unconventional and blurring the lines between where one song ends and another begins, The Moai Broadcast provides a listening experience that is best described as the stuff of dreams and science fiction.
Since forming in 2008, the five member, genre blending group has taken a workingman’s approach to the music industry, earning the respect of fans and critics alike. The band quickly caught the interest of the Tulsa music scene, bringing an undeniable energy to the stage and exploring a variety of styles, from soulful house to gritty rock and roll and everything in between. Over the past few years, The Moai Broadcast has been steadily building a solid fan base, playing several regional festivals, including Wakarusa, DFest, Harvest Festival, and Backwoods Bash (just to name a few), as well as hosting their own festivals, Easter Island in 2010 and 2011 and Winter-Re-Birth in 2011. The band plans to kick of the 2012 festival season next spring with Easter Island 3. The festival has moved to a larger venue, outgrowing the original, and next year’s will be the biggest yet!
The sounds of The Moai Broadcast are conceived through the union of organic and synthetic instrumentation and the complete abandonment of any preconceptions of what musical expression is to be.
